And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. (Ephesians 5:2)
Three points:
1. Walk in love
From the moment we wake up, until the time we go to sleep, we must show love to all. Treating all we meet exactly the same with gentleness and kindness is walking in love.
Love sometimes must be uncomfortable. It may mean an honest appraisal and correction of another. It is also receiving the same from someone else.
2. Jesus Christ
He is our example. He healed the unlovely, yet he spoke against sin. Both were to bring healing of their souls, forgiveness of sins, and a right relation with himself.
3. He pleased his father
So should we. The next few verses give some examples of actions that do NOT walk in love. Sin always hurts.
