Isaiah 61:10

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. (Isaiah 61:10)

Three points:

1. There is great reason to be happy

People like to be happy. There is no greater happiness of being thankful to God than knowing the forgiveness of sins.

2. Garments of salvation

After Adam and Eve sinned (disobeyed God's law), they clothed themselves in fig leaves. After repentance, God clothed them with the garments of salvation--lamb skins.

3. We are like Adam and Eve

We sin (disobey) against God, too. With our repentance, God clothes us with salvation. Our sins are forgiven. Any true Christian understands; the weight, burden, of sin and guilt is gone. It is time to rejoice. Let us be thankful and rejoice today.
